    Hello everyone,

I have installed NoMachine on my office machine (Debian/Linux 10 buster) and on my home machine (Win10). Launching NoMachine on Windows to access my office machine works well, but I have issues with keyboard mapping and could not find any help yet.

The thing is: I am using the German NEO2 layout on both machines. Normal keys (abc…z, ABC…Z, 123…) are mapped, but to access the other keyboard layers where the special characters are to be found in the NEO2 layout (such as [], <>, ;, (), _, -, …, you get it) does not work. These layers are normally accessed by pressing the shift and caps lock keys, but this is obviously not mapped through NoMachine. Since I have to program a lot of stuff, this is kind of… inconvenient.

Has anyone had the same problems or has a clue how to get this working??

    Thanks a ton,

    Ju/nyxilla

    I would try this:

    • On Windows client: switch away from Neo2 to plain German or US
    • On Debian server: ensure Neo2 layout with command (run in the remote session): setxkbmap -layout de -variant neo.
