I am using the free version on all machines. One is windows XP, one is Ubuntu 14.04 and one is an Apple mac 10.9.2. However, this is a question on internet access so not sure if the operating system is an issue.
I am inside my own network on an iPad trying to access a machine on the network over an internet connection.
When I enter – nx://externalIP:port number – it tells me that Safari cannot open the page as the address is invalid.
When I enter just – externalIP – Safari shows me my router admin page (it is an SFR router based in France).
If I then add – :port number – on the end of the externalIP It tells me Safari could not open the page as the server stopped responding.
The router appears to have automatic UPnP NAT forwarding rules and has set up the three machines I am trying to connect to as (number 0, 5 and 6):
# – Protocol – External ports – Destination IP address – Destination ports
0 – TCP – 25164 – 192.168.1.130 – 4000
1 – UDP – 5353 – 192.168.1.20 – 5353
2 – UDP – 4500 – 192.168.1.20 – 4500
3 – UDP – 5040 – 192.168.1.20 – 5040
4 – TCP – 5040 – 192.168.1.20 – 5040
5 – TCP – 20764 – 192.168.1.20 – 4000
6 – TCP – 21164 – 192.168.1.30 – 4000
7 – UDP – 4386 – 192.168.1.30 – 4386
As far as I can see everything should work but it is not. Can anyone offer a solution? Do I need to provide more information (if so how)?
