Pesky_UKParticipantI’d like to add my remote machines that I support to the “Machines you know section” programmatically without having the remote machines logged into my account (end users would then be able to see all remote machines which is a no-no). The Machine and Access IDs can be extracted from:
‘C:\Program Files\NoMachine\bin\nxserver.exe’ –networkadd –visible-set your@email-address.com
Can this be done?

BritgirlKeymasterNo, but in the upcoming version 10, when you publish a machine to NoMachine Network, and are logged in while doing so, it will be automatically added to your Machines book. Can this be helpful to you?

Pesky_UKParticipantThere is still the requirement to be logged in though.
Unless you can think of a way around this problem? I can add them manually, that’s not a problem, but I’d quite like it to be automagic!

Is this logged in to NM on my machine or logged in to NM on the remote machine? If only logged in to my machine then yes, it will help a lot. If I have to also be logged in to the remote machine then no, I would consider that a security problem.

BritgirlKeymasterIn the current version, when you are logged in on the player on a computer with your Network account, you have the option to “Add this machine to your machine book” when you are in the Machine book (it’s a link on the bottom right of the player). You can then log off. Then, whenever you login again to the Network service, from whichever device it is, that MId will be in your book and you can start a connection to that machine straight from the book with “Create/run a connection”.
In version 10, we will add a panel to make it easier to add the Machine Id to your Machine book. When you are logged in already on a machine and are publishing it to NoMachine Network, a new dialog will appear showing the MId and asking whether you want to add it your Machines book. You can choose to add it, or not. (you can still add it to the Machine book later if you prefer).
The other way to add a Machine Id to your book is during the creation of the connection to a target machine. From the roster where you create your connections > Add > Add connection, insert the Machine Id, click ‘Add to your Network book’ on the bottom right.
