Remote from system, no physical session "New desktop" greyed out

– i’ve been struggling with https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/nomachine-refuses-to-re-attach-to-physical-session

– remote for a while, and the gdm crashed, had to do a full system restart remotely (SSH), but now there’s no “user physical session” to connect to

How can I get NoMachine to start a virtual session? (at least for now, I need to be able to login there and open some apps in GUI)

• The initiation opens, but says “No available sessions on this server” – yep true.
• But, the “New desktop” button is greyed out! – Want to start a new one.

Hello.

Free version of NoMachine does not support creation of virtual session except for creating one
default on demand where no physical sessions are available, but according to the logs you provided in
https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/nomachine-refuses-to-re-attach-to-physical-session
it also fails in your environment, so please continue with the previous topic.
