    Hi there…

I would like to know how i can run NoMachine client using terminal (i.e. without Graphical User Interface)?

I am using the latest NoMachine 4.4.12 on Debian Jessie OS.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi ammar.

You could use the ‘–session’ command line parameter, which will start a connection without showing the main dialog:

    /usr/NX/bin/nxplayer --session <path to the NXS file>

If you want to skip also other steps, like the session type selection, please read the first paragraph of the following article:

    Hi Tor,

    Thanks for your reply.

I want to know if i can run NoMachine Client and Server Without any GUI installed in my machine.I don’t have any desktop management.

    Let us say:

On machine A running Debian based OS, this machine has command line interface only (i.e. no desktop or GUI at all).

I would like to run NoMachine server on machine A and access that server with a client on machine B running windows.

In short, i would like to run the FULL NoMachine (Server+Client) just like normal NoMachine in any GUI desktops, but without the GUI only command!!

    Thanks

Ammar, if you mean that the server is running only a console and that you want to see that in the NoMachine Client, then we don’t support this at the moment. We’re evaluating to add the Linux Framebuffer grabbing but it’s not in our short-term roadmap.
In order to use NoMachine on Linux you need an X server, even without a desktop manager. You may for example evaluate to start the X server and a fullscreen Xterm to run your console applications without a window manager.
