Just installed nomachine_8.14.2_1_amd64.deb on 2 ubuntu 24.04.1. I’m connecting from the desktop to the laptop. Using gnome + wayland on both. I’m able to get a connection. I see the cursor move around on the laptop screen. Even able to hear the audio being redirected to my desktop. But the video is scrambled. I’ve tried disabling hardware acceleration but that didn’t seem to help. Any ideas what can be wrong? I’ve attached an image of what I’m seeing from my desktop connecting to my laptop.

Hi, is this the first time you’ve installed NoMachine, or were you using 8.13 beforehand and the problem was also present?

Are you able to send us the logs from both machines? You can extract them using the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243 (steps 1 -3 are for the server, the 4th step is for the client side logs)

Post them here or send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email.

Hi, I tried 8.13.1 in August but didn’t work (blank or disconnects if I remember right) so I left it. Circled backed to it yesterday with 8.14.1 and got further. It seems to have started working after rebooting yesterday. Rebooted for a kernel upgrade (6.10.11 -> 6.10.13) and not necessarily for this issue.

    Still want the logs?

    Yes 🙂
I asked the question about new install just to understand if you had seen the exact same error on 8.13 . But that does not seem to be the case.
