I connect a Windows 7 machine to a redhat linux box.  On the linux box I use MEDM (Motif Editor and Display Manager) which is an interface for EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Controls System, https://epics.anl.gov/extensions/medm/).  MEDM/EPICS don’t have the best User interface.  When calling some MEDM screens the software reported an error, but also locked up NoMachine in the process.  I was able to kill MEDM by logging in from another platform, but NoMachine is still frozen.

I don’t know how to kill the session and start fresh without rebooting the linux box.  Is there a way to halt a NoMachine session and start anew?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

you can connect to the server, right click on the existing session and select ‘Terminate session’ from the context menu. Alternatively, you can use the nxserver command line interface (sudo /usr/NX/bin/nxserver –terminate [<sessionid> | <display> | <username>]).

However such behaviour is certainly unexpected and, if possible, we would like to see the logs for further investigation. You can find info on how to gather logs here: https://www.nomachine.com/AR10K00697. You can attach them here or send to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
