Is there a way to ensure that Command-W is sent on to the remote desktop and not causing the NoMachine window to close?

I have tried to enable “Grab Keyboard” but it makes no difference. Following a hint from the net, I have also tried to create a new shortcut for “Close Window” through system settings, but again without success (both with and without keyboard grabbing).

My NoMachine client version is 5.2.11, the macOS version is 10.12.3.

This used to work without problems in the 3.X client (also on my current version of macOS), but I have unfortunately lost my copy of the 3.x installer.

    Hi.
The option “Grab the keyboard input” is the only way to send Cmd+W to the remote side. Please note the keyboard is grabbed only when the remote desktop is visible and active, so for example if you open the client menu and press Cmd+W, the window will close.

Well, it does not work like that on my machine. If I enable “grab keyboard” and go the remote desktop and work with one of the applications there, any press on Cmd+W will promptly kill the client window. As said, it worked with the version 3 client.

I am unaware of anything that I have done (or even how I should have been able to do such a thing) that would override the keyboard grabbing of the client window.

So you are saying that if keyboard grab is on, for you Cmd+W goes to the remote desktop?

I just retried Cmd+W with grabbed keyboard, and of course, now it works as you describe.

I am unable to explain what has happened, perhaps keyboard grabbing was not really on so turning it off and on again,. cured the problem.

In any case, thanks a lot.

    Hi Christian.
There may be something wrong, we’ll verify it. Thank you for the report. 🙂
