cytan299ParticipantHi Britgirl,
I’ve sent you my logs via email. I’m not sure how useful the crash log is without the Mac client nomachine log. I don’t have this log because I had turned off logging.
In the mean time, after turning off the Sequoia firewall, I have not experienced any nomachine crashes or “Bad Message” errors. Everything has been running solidly so far. My guess is that the Sequoia firewall is broken because people have been posting that with the firewall turned on they’ve been experiencing problems. Once they turned it off (like me), their apps worked properly.

BritgirlKeymasterThanks for those, they were useful, so we will continue to investigate this in our labs. In the meantime, if possible add NoMachine to your firewall exceptions (so as not to keep you FW completely turned off). If you encounter any more issues, let us know.

cytan299ParticipantUnfortunately, nxplayer, nxd and nxdock were already added to the firewall options list to “Allow incoming connections”. I’m waiting for the next Seuquoia update which hopefully will fix the firewall problem.

IndianaM1keParticipantI’m wondering on any progress on this issue.
I see the exact same issue on my Mac Studio M1 Ultra running macOS 15.0 Sequoia. Reverting to a prior version (8.4.2_5 … it’s the latest before current that I have an install for LOL) resolves the issue for me, but the prior version is old enough that it has it’s own issues … just not “bad message” ones!
The firewall is not the issue, and my Intel laptop & linux machines all work fine with the latest NoMachine version … just this specific macOS computer!
Might be an interesting data point. Thx for your help!

cytan299ParticipantHi Britgirl,
I’ve upgraded to Sequoia 15.1 and have re-enabled the Firewall. I’ve been running noMachine client for the past 24 hours and I haven’t seen any “bad message” errors. So I think this problem is resolved.
Thanks!

BritgirlKeymasterThanks Cytan299 for the update. That’s good to know.
IndianaM1ke, can you update your macOS like Cytan299 did and tell us if the issue is resolved for you?

IndianaM1keParticipant@Britgirl: Unfortunately this mac is controlled by my workplace & 15.1 is not yet approved for us to use … I have to wait! In the meantime, how can I get the final 8.13 NoMachine to install? I’m very confident that one worked with 15.0. Thx!
