Server does not display external ip/port

When I open the server it displays only the internal ip address not the external. I’ve attempted this to fix:

Use my known external IP plus the gateway port found in the service configuration

Same as above but also forwarded said gateway port on my router.

 

Running Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 using the free version, router is an Apple Airport Extreme. Attempting to connect from iPad.

External IP and port are taken from your local router with help of UPnP and NAT-PMP protocols.

These protocols don’t work reliably with some routers and there is no 100% guarantee that external ip/port will be successfully discovered.

Please tell us exact model number of your Airport Extreme device, we will try to test it.

Thanks for the reply. It is an Airport Extreme 4th generation, don’t think there is any other model number.

We’re taking a look at this particular model and will update the post once we have further information.

As we checked  Apple Airport Extreme router there are 2 problems:

1 Port mapping may be added for a different port then requested [different public port]
in this case nxserver will not inform about new public port being used for port mapping.

That’s why even if we know external IP address, and GW port used by nxserver
we may not be able to connect to this machine, as router used different port then asked.

2 NXServer is not able to get external IP address, and because of that we do not see port mapping on nxplayer “welcome page”.

We’re working to fix this issues and patch will be soon.

Release 4.4.12 fixed these issues. Please update your software (version is now 4.5.0).
