    – NoMachine product and version on local and remote machine
    Free version for both
Client (Windows 11 & Hypervisor) is on 8.4.2
Server (Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon) is on 8.5.3

I Created a Linux mint VM with these settings.
    Generation 2
    8gb of memory
    default network switch
20gb VHDX for the virtual hard disk in the default path
    Secure Boot Disabled

The issue I’m having is when from the hypervisor I connect to the VM it will work fine for a few seconds to a few minutes and then the server machine logs off. Sometimes the player will show you the log on screen that results and other times it will freeze on the last frame received from the server (but the application itself does not freeze – just the received video)

you can see a video recording of this occurring here:

This issue is not present if you use mint 20 in hyper v (which must be done with generation 1) – although my experience with that is with an older version of the NoMachine software – I no longer have that mint 20 VM.

I recall having this issue with a Mint 21 VM several months ago but I was able to find a solution which was just a command inputted into the Server’s console. I cannot find this post again, and thus I cannot find the solution to this problem.

I have attached the nxserver log from the Host in question but the contents of it don’t give me any clues that I understand.

The logs were filtered out. Can you send them direct to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com?

You mentioned a solution that you found, was that in our forum?

I have just sent it with the same subject line as this topic. I had to recreate the log as I was away from my computer over the weekend. The log should contain several the occurrences of the issue as, paradoxically, NoMachine is the easiest method to transfer the log out of the VM for me right now and I had the issue occur several times while trying to transfer the file to my hypervisor.

I think the previous solution was on this forum – but I have been unable to find the topic again, so I am not sure.

The log you sent is not complete. A full set of logs is required. Please follow the instructions here for the server machine: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243 and send them via email.

I get this same behavior.  On any linux machine…ubuntu, debian, popos…all of them constantly log out and forces you to log back in every few seconds, and every time you log back in it’s a new session.  You can tell, because when you try to reboot it shows multiple sessions to boot out of.

Everybody, there is a workaround, and it’s the same as the one we reported for the topic here: https://forum.nomachine.com/topic/session-terminated-unexpectedly#post-41758

Quoting what I wrote there: We recently discovered a similar issue but only when using Linux Mint in a VM. Please edit /usr/NX/etc/node.cfg and set following key:

    DisplayServerExtraOptions "-eventdelay 0"

    and restart nxserver:

    sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --restart

This is fixed in version 8.8, https://kb.nomachine.com/SU07U00247.
