dark_sylincParticipantHi!
In NoMachine 6, the player UI was the following:
- Open client NoMachine
- Select remote host
- We’re now looking at remote’s desktop
- Disconnecting went back to remote host selection screen
In NoMachine 7 the UI changed a bit:
- Open client NoMachine
- Select remote host
- A new, separate window appears with the remote desktop
- Disconnecting closes the window
Is there a way to get the NoMachine 6’s behavior back? (or similar, e.g. auto-close ‘select remote host window’ upon connecting, upon disconnecting the ‘select remote’ window reappears)
I find the new behavior more distracting/uncomfortable, and I can’t find a way to switch it.

CarinParticipantHi darl_sylinc,
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide this feedback. I can understand your point-of-view and I am sorry that you aren’t comfortable with the new design of the UI. In version 7 we redesigned the interface in order to make the opening of, and access to, multiple sessions faster because this is the most common use we have found amongst our users and what our users asked us for more frequently. A possible solution for you could be to place multiple NXS files on your desktop that you can double-click to open the session directly. Alternatively, you can stick with version 6 on your client.

Ok that’s not a bad idea. Not ideal, but ok

OK, I’m not saying the new method is bad. I can see why people would like this behavior. But it’s not for me.
Then my feedback would be this: Please add a checkbox “Auto close select window on connect” which will automatically close that window, and will be reopened when the connection stops (if not already opened). This would get people like me a behavior that is close to NoMachine 6’s behavior, and would be good enough.
Cheers
