We’re running GNOME desktop on an r3.large instance in AWS, and are encountering slow performance with an NX connection. I’ve tinkered with the settings (see attachment), and the hardware capabilities of the instance (2 vCPU, 15.25 GB RAM) should not pose a problem.

Even keyboard strokes take a couple seconds to appear on the screen. CPU and memory utilization does not exceed 15%. Has anyone experienced extreme slowness with GNOME sessions, and discovered a solution? I tried tinkering with the performance settings – display encoding, frame rate, hardware acceleration – to no effect.

Has anyone experienced slowness with GNOME sessions, and reached a resolution? Thanks in advance.

We’ve not been able to reproduce this issue. Can you confirm what the GNOME DE version you installed, plus the steps you took to install Gnome? Also what Linux distro and version is it?
