SW Update: Please verify that administrator username and password are correct

Background information:
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS using Unity and I have installed NX myself and I do have root access via sudo and I have at least previously updated NX 4 to NX 5 “in place” when NX 5 was released (I might have also applied some additional update “in place” successfully). A couple of days ago I changed my password (the previous password change was done before I installed NX on my machine).

Problem description:
When I restarted NX it just told me that 5.0.47 is available for installation. When I select to install the update it fails with the message”Please verify that administrator username and password are correct”

When I press “Continue update” I get the exact same message again (see screenshot).

Where am I supposed to check that the administrator username and password are correct? Shouldn’t I get prompted for them if they are needed?

Hello.

Please send the whole /usr/NX/var/log directory to the email address forum (at) nomachine (dot) com along with the output of commands:
sudo -l
sudo getent group | grep your_user_name
sudo getent passwd your_user_name

We’ve not had any further news, so what we suggest is to reinstall from scratch and let us know if you are experiencing the same issue.
