Hello, I have a question regarding Switching the View Between Multi-Monitors. After upgrading to free version 9 from free version 8 this feature stopped working as it is supposed to according to your documentation on a link below.

    https://www.nomachine.com/support/documents/switching-the-view-between-multi-monitors-during-a-remote-desktop-session

There is not anymore an option to switch between numbered monitors, rather there is only one extended view showing all monitors at the same time. Moreover, the extended screen is black only. Is there a solution to this problem?

    Kind regards.

Hi. Can you please share a few details about your client and server OS version and working environment? We’re not aware of issues so we’d need to run some tests on your specific configuration.

    Hi Tor,

the server is running on Sonoma 14.7.1 (23H222). I tried to connect from couple of clients running on either Sonoma 14.7.1 (23H222), or Monterey 12.7.6 (21H1320).

What type of Mac hardware do you’ve on server side (macbook, iMac, etc) and what processor does it use (Intel, Silicon)? We’ve already started some internal tests, but the more we know the better it is. I’ll keep you updated.

Would you like to install a package implementing a potential fix for your problem? We’d just need to know what is the product you installed on the server machine (if you’re not sure about it, open NoMachine client > Settings > Server > Updates).

It’s me again. Can you please save server side logs and send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? You can do that by opening the NoMachine client > Settings > Server > Security > Take logs (below in the panel) and select where to save the file. We’d like to identify some operational parameters that are common in the issue I mentioned in my previous post.

I’d be happy to install a fix if it solves my problem. It is a free version of NoMachine version 9.0.188 that is installed on the server machine.

Hi Tor, I had to clean install version 9, because I already rolled back to version 8. I tried to connect from 4 computers number of times. At the beginning, it was able to display extended view only. Then I tried to connect from a Windows 10 Pro computer. Since then the behaviour changed. It only displayed white screen and after number of seconds it disconnected automatically. After this stage I exported logs, which I am about send to the email address you gave me.

Thank you for sharing the logs, we’re analyzing them. We’d also like to verify if the blank screen and following disconnection was caused by a segmentation fault. Could you check the folders

    ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
    /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

and send any stackdump file with prefix nxnode, please? No need to install again version 9, if the IPS files exist they’ll still be there.

Hi Tor, have you received my stackdump files? Are there any news about the issue? Thank you.

Hey, I’m sorry for not writing you back! I’ve received your stackdumps and devs are working on trying to reproduce your issue, so far without luck. I’ll update the thread as soon as they tell me how to proceed.

I think I may be having the same problem, or a closely related problem.  I cannot use dual monitors connected on my Mac with NoMachine,  It does not detect multiple monitors connected and does not allow me to select a monitor.  Instead it puts the 2nd display inside the primary display, shrunk down.  But then the entire window is huge mostly black space, showing the main display inside that.

I am connecting to NoMachine 9.0.188 server running on MacOS Sequoia 15.5 from Linux NoMachine 9.0.188 client.
The only way to get it to be usable is to disconnect the 2nd monitor from my Mac… which is not a solution at all, and in fact that is the monitor I want to view with NoMachine.
