I’ve downloaded the Terminal Server 5.1 Eval.

Using Ubuntu 14.04, I grabbed the .deb file and installed.

I see after running #service nxserver start that the service is started/running.

Im guessing that I now should be able to use the NoMachine client for Windows to connect to this Terminal Server and spin up a virtual machine?

I’m receiving the “Error 107: Connection refused” message. Not able to connect.

Is there some trivial step that Im missing?

    Thank you

    Hi.

It looks like it is firewall or wrong port number problem.

Are you using non-native firewall? For test you can disable it or just add port 4000 as an exception in configuration.

There is possibility to connect in reverse side – from your Ubuntu host to your Windows? Maybe port on server is changed? You can check it in “Server status”, by clicking on NoMachine icon in your linux tray (see section 2 and fig. 1 in https://www.nomachine.com/DT11M00107#2 for more details).

    Hi,

Firewall both on client and server side are off.

When running a netstat, I see that the service is not even running. I run service nxserver start, and it says starting but no service is running. Not listening on any port.

Any recommendation? Ive uninstalled, removed and reinstalled a few times now.

Please use sudo /usr/NX/bin/nxserver --restart (or “–startup”) command, for restart/startup nx services. Show also processes (execute command ps -Af | grep nx).

Logs would be helpful. Please run debug in NoMachine configuration files, reproduce problem and send logs from server and client side to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? Here you can find instructions about collecting logs: https://www.nomachine.com/DT04M00076.
