I am having trouble connecting remotely to my Linux desktop (Centos 6.3, GNOME 2.28.2) from my Windows 7 laptop. I have the same (latest) version of NoMachine installed on both v 4.0.366.

The error I get when attempting to connect is

“Could not connect to the server. Error is 138: Connection timed out”

I have tried googling this problem and looking at the forums here, neither of which has helped me solve the problem thus far. One additional note, when I looked at my server settings on the Linux machine it was unable to find my gateway ip address or a port to forward to the gateway.

I have attached the session log for my most recent attempt in case it is useful. I would love to have this problem solved today, as I am about to leave town and *need* to have remote work capability on my linux machine. I can always ssh to it but my connection tends to time out and it is very slow to work with GUIs in this fashion. Thank you all for your help!

Thanks a lot, I disabled my firewall on the Linux machine and now the connection works.
