I built a new Ubuntu 20 based Linux System and installed NoMachine 7.0.211. The machine works fine until I make a connection from a NoMachine client. After around 10 minutes I notice the mouse cursor still moves but I can no longer interact with the windows. If I go to the remote machine and connect a monitor then I notice that mouse behaves the same on that. I must switch to console mode and shut the machine down. It happens repeatedly on this machine. I have a second Ubuntu 20 machine which also runs NoMachine and that has no issues.

    Hi beckett37,

Can you please send us the following system logs:  /var/log/syslog  and  /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
You can see the following article for guidance: https://www.nomachine.com/DT11R00181

Please send as an attachment to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure you use the title of the topic in the subject of your email. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. I have setup the appropriate logging and will upload as soon as the issue happens, but I notice now that the issue is not occurring even though it was happening very regularly on the weekend. The only thing I have done differently is to change one of the external monitors from the DVI port to the Display Port of the target PC. I will keep you updated.

    Hi beckett37,

We received the logs, thank you! But they don’t show anything interesting as to why this problem is occurring.

If the issue it’s still happening and you have enabled debug logs, submit them again and we’ll be happy to take a look. So far we have no evidence that NoMachine is causing that problem.

Again, please send the logs as an attachment to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure you use the title of the topic in the subject of your email.

    Thank you!
