I’m having some issues with my connection. My client (Win 10) machine loses connection to the server (Ubuntu 22.04) consistently with an error “Connection reset by peer”.  I will send the log files immediately. Please let me know if you need anything else.

What is the version of NoMachine on the Windows machine? What is the version of NoMachine on the server machine? What product, the Free Edition or something else?

What is the desktop environment on Ubuntu that you would like to connect to?

NoMachine version on Windows and Ubuntu: 7.10.1

I am using the free version.

    Ubuntu Desktop Environment: GNOME 41.7

Please update to the latest version (8.5) and if you reproduce the problem still, submit logs as per the instructions here:

    https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243

One set from the Ubuntu machine and one set from the Windows client.

Send everything to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com using the title of this topic as the subject of your email.
    Thanks!

Steps to reproduce the problem, on version 8, are also useful.

I have updated to 8.5.3 on both machines and emailed the log files. The connection is still dropping.

Reproducing the problem is simply connecting to the machine. Before the update, I would connect then have Desktop control for a few moments and then the screen would freeze and the connection would drop showing the error “Connection reset by peer”. Since the update, I connect but I don’t even have Desktop control for a few moments. It freezes automatically and drops the connection with the same error.

Hi, logs indicate a possible network or even firewall issue and not a problem with the NoMachine software. The connection drops because there is no network. Please check your network and firewall configurations.
