    Hi,

I’m using NoMachine on a Windows 10 PC in order to access the server Spectre12 (OS Linux). I use a GNOME virtual desktop in order to do so. I am attempting to transfer files from the server to my computer. I have done so successfully in the past using the !M button in order to access a drop down menu, selecting send file etc etc.

However, I am no longer able to access this drop down menu. When my mouse icon hovers over it the mouse changes from the standard fully white with a thin black outline to a black mouse icon with a thin white outline. I am not able to click on the !M. This is the only area of the whole system that this occurs.

I have uninstalled the NoMachine software and reinstalled (if it doesn’t work turn it off and turn it back on again, right?!), but with no success.

My question is: Is there a different way to transfer files? Or, any idea how I can regain access to the !M drop down menu?

    Thank you for your time,

    Emily

Do you know what Linux distro is on the server and the version so we can investigated? If you are accessing a Uni server (I recognize the server name), the admin will be able to give you this info, or alternatively they can open a ticket.

In the meantime, there are two other ways to transfer files. One is by simple drag and drop. Dragging it to your local machine will leave it on the desktop. The other way is to share your disks, provided these have not been disabled on the server by the administrator. A tutorial about sharing disks is available here:
