When attempting to change a server preference, am prompted with a dialog box with the message “Please insert a user with administrative rights”. I have tried enteringĀ the following:

    – Linux sudo user’s username

    – Linux sudo user’s password

    – NoMachine admin user’s username

    – NoMachine admin user’s password

The result is always that the status bar shows “Authentication failed. Please try again”. Using NoMachine Terminal Server Evaluation 6.2.4

    Hello shoe54,

What’s the exact distribution and version of your Linux? Do you use any specific technology for users management, like LDAP or Windows AD?

Logs would be useful. Can you reproduce the issue and gather nxclient logs according to these instructions:

    https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00163&dn=How%20to%20gather%20debug%20logs%20for%20support#2.1.

    Send logs to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

    Thanks!

It is a standalone Linux VM:

Operating System: CentOS Linux 7 (Core)

    CPE OS Name: cpe:/o:centos:centos:7

    Kernel: Linux 3.10.0-862.3.3.el7.x86_64

    Architecture: x86-64

    centos-release-7-5.1804.el7.centos.2.x86_64

Will provide logs shortly. In the mean time, is there a way to enable the “Use acceleration for display processing” setting under System Preferences->Performance without going thru the GUI? I could not find an equivalent option in either server.cfg or node.cfg.

    Thanks

Logs attached. I reproduced the issue by entering 2 different usernames which are set up as NoMachine admin users: stan and admin.

    Thanks.

Hello, that option has no effect on servers running on Linux systems. If you want to change it anyway it is named “EnableDirectXSupport” in node.cfg.

In the log you posted I wasn’t able to find a reason for the authentication failure. Could you run these commands and show the output:

    sudo -l -U stan
    sudo -l -U admin

I forgot to tell you that other interesting logs are located in per-user folder $HOME/.nx

Do you mean that a Linux Terminal Server isn’t able to take advantage of the GPU to encode a video stream forĀ a remote web player client?

NoMachine for Linux is able to use GPU for video encoding:

What do I need to do to allow NoMachine software to use H.264?
How to use Intel H.264 HW encoder with NoMachine on Linux platforms

What I meant is option you mentioned does not control such feature.
