ParticipantI just installed the free version of NoMachine (v 9.1.24_6) on my Mac Mini M4 running MacOS 26 (Tahoe) Beta.
I am able to connect to the Mac Mini server with my iPad, running the NoMachine client app. The connection appears to work very well – with one exception: None of the Mac Mini’s “System Settings” items are available to display or change.
I can launch the “System Settings” menu by clicking on the Apple icon at the upper left of the screen, and I can select options in the left pane of the resulting dialogue panel (e.g., General, Privacy and Security, etc.). However, once I select any of those options, clicking on anything in the right pane does nothing.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the NoMachine application on the Mac, but the behavior remains the same. I have also double and triple-checked the various required permissions (i.e. Accessibility, Screen Sharing and Screen Recording) and the NoMachine toggle is set to “ON” for each of them. Finally, the user account I am logging in with is the only account that exists on that machine, and is the computer administrator.
I assume that, as a complete newcomer to NoMachine, there must be something simple and obvious that I’m doing wrong or overlooking. Any insight as to what that might be would be appreciated.

KeymasterHi, we can reproduce a similar problem, clicking on buttons in the right-hand pane in Displays, for example, has no effect, and our developers are currently investigating further. Since Tahoe is currently available as a Preview/Beta, it’s possible there could be some further updates still from the Apple developers before they release the final stable version. Thanks for reporting in any case, we will continue our investigation. If we find a workaround, we’ll submit more information here.

ParticipantHi,
we found a workaround for your issue. Please edit
/Applications/NoMachine.app/Contents/Frameworks/etc/node.cfg
on your Tahoe machine and add:DisplayServerExtraOptions "-oldeventapi 1"
. Then restart NoMachine withsudo /etc/NX/nxserver --restart

Participantbucu – Thank you for the recommended workaround. It does seem to allow clicking on items, such as system settings, which were inaccessible otherwise.
Not clear to me if this is related, or just another Tahoe oddity, but once the workaround is applied and nxserver is restarted, clicking on anything on the screen seems to have no effect UNTIL the cursor is moved (however slightly) from the point which was clicked. Then the action clicked (e.g. closing a window, clicking the back arrow, etc.) takes place as soon as the cursor is moved. A bit disconcerting, but at least the functions that were previously non-responsive can be accessed.
Thank you again…
