Unattended file download?

I connect from my macbook pro to Ubuntu Server 20.04 thru NoMachine.  is it possible to start a download of a very large file on the server then close the NoMachine connection and let the server download the large file unattended?  if so, how?  when I tried it the download terminated when I closed the connection.

Do you mean when you transfer a file from the client to the server and vice-versa and the connection stops, your file stops up/downloading as well? This is the correct behaviour.

It is not currently possible to keep file transfer open when the connection between client and server has terminated.
