    NoMachine installed on Windows 8 laptop to connect to remote unix host. A day after installation and configuration new connection appears in the list of connections. I did not create it. Right after launch the connection is there (Untitled.png)

    2-3 minutes after it is not (NotThere.png)

    The connection is configured as NX to a host 10.178.41.195, consistent with the subnet of my work network. What is it? Was I hacked? The connection disappears after 2-3 minutes of working without any connections. What does it mean when I have three joined pipes at the right bottom corner of my connection (instead of !M symbol). Incoming connections are disabled.

    NoMachine runs under Windows, version 4.6.4

    Three joined pipes indicates a computer that is being broadcast on your local network: See figure 3 in the tutorial here: https://www.nomachine.com/finding-other-nomachine-computers-on-the-same-network.

    If you are the admin of that computer showing up on the network, you can disable the broadcast feature using the same tutorial. If you are not and you don’t want to see broadcast computers on your LAN, you can check the box in the Player settings ‘Don’t show other computers on the network’.
    (Player preferences -> Appearance).
