Title says it all. I’ve a virtual cloud desktop running Windows Server 2019. I can connect to it without problems from both my Macs using latest NoMachine versions everywhere, a Mac Mini running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and a MacBook Pro running macOS Big Sur 11.1 (beta).

When I connect a FTDI adapter (USB COM port) to the Mac Mini (Catalina), I can share it from there without problems, the distant Windows machine sees it and can use it.

When I connect the same piece of hardware to the MacBook Pro (Big Sur), the NoMachine GUI tells me Sorry, no USB device found on this system (or similar, I’m getting the message in French). When I look into system.log, I find for each time I try to share an USB device the following two lines:

    Dec  9 23:02:13 MBP-Thierry com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.nomachine.nxusb.daemon): Unknown key for string: ServiceDescription

    Dec  9 23:02:19 MBP-Thierry com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.nomachine.nxusb.daemon[776]): Service exited with abnormal code: 115

It’s just the PID of com.nomachine.nxusb.daemon which is (logically) different each time.

Anyone an idea what goes wrong here?

Additional Info: Sharing Volumes, i.e. an USB stick works without problems on both my machines…

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

Please accept our apologies for this issue. USB devices forwarding from MacOS Big Sur is not supported yet, but our development team is working on adding it, and soon we will release an update that will fix this issue.

Great, thank you! I’ll be patient. I should have understood that something is wrong when I got the usual popup about outdated kernel extensions when I installed NoMachine on Big Sur…
