We’re using the free NoMachine 4.2.23 with Centos 5.10 (KDE) on the server and Windows 7 clients. One issue is that the servers all have US keyboards attached and the clients use DE keyboards.

Now the keyboard layout stays in the US format, which is not ideal if you have a German keyboard in front of you.

Is there any setting we could change so that we can use the German keyboard layout on the client, while the keyboard physically attached to the server is still using the US layout?

    Fabian,

users need to handle this situation by theirselves changing the keyboard settings in KDE. They need to switch to German when connecting from remote and restoring US when using the keyboard physically attached to the server host.

KDE can configure a keyboard shortcut in order to switch quickly among different languages.
