    Hello all,

I have just started using NoMachine. I notice that when you attempt to connect the first time, the NoMachine GUI throws up a warning stating that the authenticity of the host cannot be established, and it’s certificate fingerprint is <such and such>.  I know how to verify SSH key fingerprints, but NoMachine seems to be using something different.  The questions are: how do I verify (on the host) that the fingerprint displayed remotely is correct, and how do I change the certificate if need be?

    Thanks for your time,

    R. Sood

    Hi R. Sood,

Certificates used in NX protocol and SSH host keys work similarly to SSH host keys, and also have to be verified in the same way.
Here is an article explaining how to manage them: Keys and certificates for host verification explained and how to replace them
