I have tried the installation of nomachine_9.2.18_3_x86_64 on Fedora 42, Fedora 43 and openSUSE Tumbleweed, and everytime I do so, it breaks my VLC player functionality. VLC plays normally without issues, but right after NoMachine installation, it crashes immediately when it starts playing.

After extensive troubleshooting, I found out that environment variable “LD_PRELOAD” is the culprit and I had to create custom execution scripts for VLC, to delete its value before run.

Is this a bug? Am I missing something? Is there any other way to fix it? I am using several systems, and I have to change everyone, which is time consuming.

ps. all systems run Wayland and KDE Plasma

Hi, there is a Trouble Report documenting the issue here and it includes a workaround as well which you can use: https://kb.nomachine.com/TR11W11619. The fix is already lined up for the next maintenance release.
