    Dear NoMachine Team,

I’m connecting from a Win 10 client to a headless virtual Linux (openSUSE 15.6 with Xfce) running in Virtualbox on a remote W10 server. This configuration was working flawlessly until I recently upgraded from NoMachine (free version) v. 8.9.1 to v. 8.14.2, both on the server and the client side. The connection is very slow now, e.g. mowing Windows around on the remote Linux desktop causes painful lagging.

Any idea what could cause this issue and how to speed the system up again?

    Thanks and kind regards

When you updated NoMachine, did you also update your Linux system?

When you say headless, do you mean ‘Headless Start’ rather than ‘Normal Start’ in Virtualbox? If you select ‘Normal Start’, do you get the same issue?

Thanks for the feedback – and the good questions. Answering those implicitly solved the issue…

Ad 1.) Yes, I updated OpenSuse 15.6 prior to updating NoMachine (zypper refresh, zypper update). The update was pretty substantial as I hadn’t done one in a few months.

Ad 2.) Yes, I meant the headless start in Virtualbox (“ohne GUI starten”).

Ad 3.) I tried the normal start, i.e. I stopped the “headless” Linux and restarted it normally. The normally started Linux did then not show the lagging when remotely connection to it via NoMachine.

I then stopped the normally started Linux and restarted the headless Linux. And, what can I say – issue solved, also the headless Linux is not lagging anymore.

    Thanks again for great support!
