Hello!
I’m running NoMachine on a RedHat 7 system trying to get web based access to it from Windows clients. I followed the documents I can find here on how to enable HTTP access with no effect. The manual indicates it should work out of the box. If I query the ports listed there, no service running. I can connect to NX on port 4000. I’m getting error 500 when starting the web server (via
nxserver --start nxhtd
).NX> 500 ERROR: Support for HTTP server is not permitted on this server.
Thank you!

Did you install one of the Enterprise products on the RedHat system, for example NoMachine Enterprise Desktop or NoMachine Workstation? A good place to start is the following tutorial. Is this the manual you were referring to?

January 28, 2022 at 19:14 #37231redigdParticipantI was operating a demo copy to test in our environment. Can I get a short demo that’s capable of web-based remote access?
Yes, I followed that tutorial! 🙂

All these products are available as evaluation software (30-days) in the Download section of our website:

February 1, 2022 at 11:09 #37275BritgirlKeymasterI’m glad you got the demo up and running. Which product did you choose in the end? 🙂
Out of interest, you wrote “product feature chart shows even the basic versions supporting Web access”. Can you tell me which chart you were looking at? I will make sure it’s corrected.
The comparison of NoMachine Free Edition and Enterprise Desktop is available here: https://www.nomachine.com/remote-access-for-everyone

February 1, 2022 at 19:44 #37290BritgirlKeymasterNoMachine Terminal Server is targeting organizations with a need for unlimited sessions and/or have a large number of users. Also consider the support that comes with a subscription as well.
For individuals/professionals or very small units, NoMachine Workstation might be a better option 😉
