ParticipantI try to connect from Windows to my Ubuntu Linux machine running sway window manager. After successful authentication only a white screen is shown, and after some time there is an Ooops! with the message: The connection with the server was lost. Error is 108: Connection reset by peer.
In /usr/NX/var/log/nxserver.log this two things appear:
Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified 33864 41314 2024-12-06 08:56:07 628.907
HostWmRunningHelper: WARNING! Failed to open display ':0'.I am using NoMachine version 8.14.2-1 on my Linux machine. If I am using gnome instead of sway, everything works fine.

KeymasterBear in mind that Sway is not fully supported yet. Can you tell us whether the graphics drivers are proprietary or open source? And are you running the Ubuntu system in a VM? Can you also submit logs from the Ubuntu host? You can extract them using the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243
Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!

KeymasterAs we wrote, Sway is not fully supported yet and for this reason EGL libraries won’t work. DRM can work as a fallback but it has limitations, for example with virtual machines and proprietary drivers. In your logs we can see such typical errors, but you did not confirm whether the graphics drivers are indeed proprietary or open source and whether you are running the Ubuntu system in a VM. This would be useful for us to know.

ParticipantMy Ubuntu system (24.04) is not running in a VM, it is running on my Lenovo T14 laptop.
According to “lspci” this is my graphics controller:
– VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Raptor Lake-P [Iris Xe Graphics] (rev 04)
and it is using the following driver
– Kernel driver in use: i915
I assume that is an open source driver.
Hope that is the information you are looking for.lspci -n -n -k
