I have a white screen when trying to connect a Win 10 laptop (NVIDIA) to a Win 11 Mini PC (AMD). Only when I connect an external screen to the Mini PC can I establish a working connection. Since the mini PC is attached to a telescope, I cannot permanently connect a screen. How can I work around the problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    VG

Are you able to send us the logs from the Windows host that you are connecting to? Reproduce the white screen issue after having followed the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243

Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to use the title of this topic as the subject of your email.

As a solution you can consider using an HDMI dongle, please check the following article about using NoMachine to connect to headless Windows hosts, https://kb.nomachine.com/AR05S01124.

Logs were received from the client side, the computer you are connecting from. We need to see the logs of Windows server, “the Windows host that you are connecting to“. See the section “First Step” in the guide I linked to in my previous reply. Thanks.

    Hello NIPIAN,

Try adjusting the display settings on the Mini PC by connecting the external screen temporarily. Set the display output to “Duplicate”, or “Second screen only,” then disconnect the external screen… This should retain the settings and allow a proper connection without needing the external display permanently.,,

    Thank You

    NIPIAN, try the following:

    1) disable HW decoding on the machine you are connecting from (instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/AR07U01202)

    Does that make any difference?

    2) If it doesn’t help, disable HW encoding on the machine you are connecting to. ( Go to server settings -> server performance -> uncheck “Use hardware encoding”).

    Does that make any difference?
