That worked. Thanks!
jn505ParticipantTor,
The link is asking for a username and password. Is there another non restricted link available?
Thanks,
Alex
jn505ParticipantTor,
Thank you, that worked! Where can I get a list of command line options?
Thanks,
Alex
jn505ParticipantBritgirl,
I am using the enterprise version. What I want to do is specify the display I want to connect to on the nxs file so that the user in not prompted for either display 0 or 1002. In other words, I don’t want the user to know what display he/she is connecting to.
jn505ParticipantKroy,
Is there any other way to do this? I really need the client to connect to a specific display.
jn505ParticipantThat did it. 🙂 Thanks Tor!
Alex
jn505ParticipantReza,
I was looking into that (https://www.nomachine.com/FR10K02789) but I cannot seem to make it work. Do I use this option on the node.cfg file located on the client or the server. Also, if I do end up using this option and specify DisplayDefault :1002 , does it mean that my client can only connect to display 1002 and won’t be able to switch?
Ideally I would like to have a connection file specifically for display 0 and one for display 1002.
Thanks!
jn505ParticipantTor,
That is correct. I am connecting by specifying the –session option with the path to my nxs file. Is it possible to make the box disappear no matter how you close the connection?
jn505ParticipantKroy,
Here are some details that might be of some use when replicating the issue:
Client: Ubuntu 16.04 (No Machine Enterprise Desktop) The client has the DVD Burner connected directly to it.
Server: RHEL 7 (NoMachine Enterprise) The data we want to burn is on the server and using the DVD shared by the client remotely.
Just to be clear, we are able to see the DVD Burner on the server but are unable to burn to it.
On another note. Is it possible to share an internal (Non-USB) DVD burner?
Thank you for looking into this!
Alexjn505ParticipantQuick update. I am able to see the DVD burner but it does not detect the blank media when connecting the local DVD burner to the NoMachine server. To further test this issue, I decided to connect another usb DVD burner physically to the NoMachine server to see if it was a Linux issue. It turns out that when the DVD burner is physically connected to the server via USB the DVD burning application (either Brasero or K3B) have no problem reading the blank DVD and burning to it. This tells me there is something happening with NoMachine when I connect the DVD burner as a usb device. I have no problems when the dvd is physically connected to the server but do have problems recognizing the blank data when the DVDD burner is remotely located. Any suggestions?
jn505Participantkroy,
I followed the steps on this link as suggested (https://www.nomachine.com/AR12J00658.) and I got the DVD to attach. The issue now is that I cannot write to it. I suspect it thinks is a regular cd-drive and not a burner. When I open Brasero to attempt to write an iso file, Brasero states “Please replace the disc with a supported CD or DVD “. I’ve tried using different media with no luck.
jn505Participantkroy,
I installed the NoMachine server and executed the following commands as I was not sure if the USB sharing was ON by default. I am able to access the DVD burner from the local machine. It seems NoMachine is unable to see the USB device.nxserver –ruleadd –class service –type client-usb-sharing –value yes
nxserver –ruleadd –class service –type server-usb-sharing –value yesnxserver –rulelist
sevice client-usb-sharing yes NX system
srvice serve-usb-sharing yes NX systemOS: RHEL 7.2
USB: hpCDDVDW_CDROM_sr0I also attempted to connect the USB DVD burner from my windows machine using the windows NoMachine client and USb devices is still grayed out.
jn505ParticipantJust to clarify.. I do see the USB DVD Burner on my Windows machine.
jn505Participantkroy,
I was able to get there but I do not see my USB DVD in the USB devices. I use the <Click here to connect a device> and select USB Devices and both the local and remote USB device options are in gray. Do I need to enable this from the config file?
Thank you!
