I just wanted to comment here to say that I am experiencing the exact same behavior when connecting to headless Linux machines.
This behavior appears to happen regardless of distribution – I’ve tried Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, Pop_OS, and some Arch based distros and it occurs on all of them when connecting from a Windows machine or VM running the NoMachine server.
This issue has made it impossible to keep using NoMachine at this time for this purpose, which is unfortunate since it’s the best remote software I’ve found before this issue popped up.
