    Hello,

How can I uninstall “NoMachine Service” on Linux and Windows ?

We don’t want end-users to play with !M settings.

    Thanks!

    Steve.

Hi, if you don’t want the server component installed on your machines, try Enterprise Client. It’s free to download and use, suitable for users who only want to start connections to remote desktops (and not receive connections) https://www.nomachine.com/product&p=NoMachine%20Enterprise%20Client.

Or what you can do is install without starting the NoMachine Services automatically, see section 2.8 of this document for example, https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00246.

    Try This

sudo apt-get remove nxnode nxserver nxclient

    sudo apt-get autoremove

renatenickole, it seems you are referring to our legacy version (pre version 4) These commands are not supported.

    Hello,

And what about server side (destination machine) ?

No way to cleanly uninstall  “NoMachine Service” ?

Manual start must not be allowed in our case.

Is there a dirty way like removing files (binary file… )? Which one ?

The aim would be to have only the admin console on “!M Cloud Server”.

    Is it possible ?

    Thanks.

    Steve.

It’s not clear why you want to uninstall the NoMachine service.  Perhaps you can provide us with some more information about what you are trying to achieve. If you prefer, you can contact us privately.

The “nomachine service” item is a shortcut to open Server Status & Settings in the player GUI. The exact same thing can be done from the tray menu, by opening the Server Status, and as well by just starting the player and entering settings.

You can’t uninstall it but you can disable it by disabling the keys EnableServerStatus and EnableServerPreferences in node.cfg which tell the player to not show those panels when the player GUI is opened. So if the user opens the player, clicks the shortcut or the tray menu, the server settings will be never accessible to them.
