My Windows 10 Home v. 1803 PC (64 bit, i7-7770, 32GB RAM) crashed at the end of installing NoMachine (current free version) resulting in the ever-popular Blue Screen o’ Death.  Error message mentioned “nxusbf.sys”.  Now, I cannot run NoMachine or uninstall it to start over.  (See attached 1).

AND, if I try to reinstall, it says there’s already a version running, so a second installation can’t be done. (See attached 2).

Funny thing…I set up NoMachine on my Odroid C2 single board computer (the one I wanted to remotely control) with nary a hitch.

What’s next?  Be nice and explain things like you would to your not-so-bright brother-in-law!

    Hi,

First of all here are instructions on how to recover corrupted installation:

For that you need to move:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\server.lic.sample to C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\server.lic

    and also move:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\node.lic.sample to C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\node.lic

After that you need to run installation file of the NoMachine Free installer with disabled USB forwarding module and update NoMachine installation.

We will pass a link to the free NoMachine version with disabled USB forwarding module.

After updating you will be able to use all functionalities of the NoMachine Free version expect USB devices forwarding.

Also it would be very helpful for us if you could send your Memory Dump File for us to check. Usually it’s located here: %SystemRoot%memory.dmp.
