Hello,
I’ve installed NoMachine on both of my laptop and desktop that run Elementary OS.
Elementary OS uses Pantheon desktop environment which has been built on Gnome DE.
However there is no any NoMachine menu icon on the panel which is specified on this page: https://www.nomachine.com/sharing-files-between-computers
Generally no any known issue with the panel icons. I use RedShift and its menu icon appears always.

Thanks for your report. We correctly support the Indicator API (used on Freya with Ayatana, and on Loki through a plugin for Wingpanel), but we’ve verified the issue on Elementary and already implemented a fix. We’ll include it in the next release.
