Hello, this is really weird and annoying. I am connected to my laptop via NoMachine and when I type numbers on numpad it recognizes only every second keystroke! Switching off numlock fixes it on the connected machine but obviously then I cannot type numbers on the host machine becuse numlock is off.
December 9, 2021 at 17:48 #36609BritgirlKeymasterWhat OS and version are you connecting from? What OS and version are you connecting to?
What NoMachine products and versions are you using?Does this happen in every application you use within the session?
December 10, 2021 at 15:06 #36621McVitasParticipantI don’t really understand why you ask this, but OK maybe I could have Windows 11 instead of 10 if that could make any issues…
1st machine is Windows 10 pro 20H2 and I am connecting to Windows 10 Enterprise 21H1
Right now when I was connected the numpad didn’t work at all on the target machine (like it was switched off), but on the host machine numlock was on and I could type numbers normally. So I tried switching it off and reconnect, then I switched it on with NoMachine window in focus and the result is again what I describe – only every other keystroke is being recognized. On machine I am connecting from it works just fine.
December 10, 2021 at 15:11 #36622McVitasParticipantRegarding NoMachine products and version… is this a known bug affecting certain versions? I am always updating whenever there is an update available so I suppose it’s the lastest. Server shows it’s 7.7.4
December 10, 2021 at 15:15 #36623McVitasParticipantand it doesn’t matter which application I type into. It skips keystrokes everywhere.
And now I notice another super weird behavior! Alternating caps lock! If I switch on caps lock in NoMachine window

December 10, 2021 at 18:51 #36634BritgirlKeymasterThanks for the additional info.
We’ve had another user in the forums report similar behaviour; we’ve not been able to reproduce it. See this topic here: https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/disabled-numlock-sync and we also have a Trouble Report open for an issue with numlock/capslock but it’s not quite the same as what you are experiencing.
so when you ask
” don’t really understand why you ask this, but OK maybe I could have Windows 11 instead of 10 if that could make any issues…”it’s because I didn’t know if you were connecting to a Windows or from a Windows machine. Also to know your exact set-up, this could be useful to know in any investigation we run. And to know if it could be the same as the topic I just mentioned above 😉
Have you tried restarting the server?
What we can do is send you a debug version and extract the logs. If you agree to do that, I can send you a package to download via email with further instructions.
December 11, 2021 at 01:14 #36637McVitasParticipantDefinitely, send me the debug package please! I remember that this actually happened to me first in aAugust 2020 and I had different PCs back then! Both source and target PCs were different hardware. I didn’t write it into forums back then and it somehow stopped. Now it seems to be continuing for more days however.
December 15, 2021 at 12:34 #36673McVitasParticipantHello! Where is the debug package?? I am now having a vacation so didn’t need it much…
Now I tried to restart the NoMachine server and it helped! Not sure when it starts happening again though… In that case I would like to be able to do some debug and post it here
December 21, 2021 at 13:39 #36762Zom-BParticipantI’m experiencing the same, alternating numlock, and it’s very annoying since I almost exclusively use numlock to blind-type numbers.
Server: W10 21H1
Client: Ubuntu 18.04December 21, 2021 at 14:27 #36766BritgirlKeymaster@mcvitas please check your email inbox because we have sent you details concerning the debug package.
December 21, 2021 at 16:04 #36774BritgirlKeymasterHi Zom-B, would you also like to try the debug package for us and send us the logs from the Windows server host?
December 27, 2021 at 13:15 #36845McVitasParticipantSorry I didn’t find it in my gmail. Maybe it was in spam folder but got already deleted… Please send it again. I have the problem again, so now I would like to do some debugging
December 27, 2021 at 13:21 #36846McVitasParticipantand now I have another problem – after restarting NoMachine server I cannot connect anymore because authentication failed and it asks me for credentials again! I was always using local administrator and now it stopped working. I tested via runas command that the credentials work fine on the target machine but can’t use them for connection. What is this?
December 27, 2021 at 13:24 #36847McVitasParticipantrestarting of the whole target PC helped…
