Okay, on the server I got following messages:
Info: Using Nvidia H.264 hardware encoder.
On the client I could not find any string with “H.264” in it… Does it mean the client do not use H.264 hardware decoding on the client?
ackiParticipantOkay, where are the C-*/session logs placed?
Linux host, Windows client
ackiParticipantI do not see this option: “New Desktop” after I login via my NoMachine Enterprise Client.
Is this not available in the free edition?
ackiParticipantHere is a screenshot:
ackiParticipantWe have at least 10 people who wants to connect all to the same server and every one should get their own virtual desktop.
The server is a Linux machine with 32 cores and 250GB RAM, so there is enough power.
1) When I understand you now correctly the maximum number of virtual desktops is limited to 4? We cannot increase it with any version, thats a limitation of NoMachine?
2) Please explain me the number of cores in the licensing, what does it mean?
ackiParticipantI selected remote screen adjustment. However, nothing happens.
When I go to the adjust display settings, I can only select as maximum 1920×1080, although my screen has 2560×1440 resolution.
ackiParticipantWe only have have one server where everybody want to connect to.
So then I guess all the terminal products doesn’t make sense for us?
ackiParticipantWhat is the difference between: NoMachine Terminal Server Node Subscription for Linux vs NoMachine Small Business Server Subscription
794$ vs 744$ its almost the same money, but the first has unlimited connections and there is also something mentioned like number of cores. What it is used for?
ackiParticipantSo then I guess NoMachine Small Business Server is what we are looking for. How can I check whether the hardware decoding on the server is working?
ackiParticipantFor me it works now. Thanks!
ackiParticipantHere is my output:

user@computer:~$I dont know what GDM is. In the top taskbar, there is a button where I can even choose between german and english. But this does not change anything. And I dont know whether it means the keyboard input or something else…
ackiParticipantDisplay manager restart doesn’t help.
And my
/etc/default/keyboard
was already XKBLAYOUT=deAnyway, I think it is a problem with NoMachine, not with the server setup. Other colleagues might connect with an English keyboard and for them it should work too. So What can I do about it to fix it?
ackiParticipantThis does not help unfortunately.
Why do I have to change this in my Ubuntu profile anyway?
I connect from a Windows system which has German keyboard layout and it should forward the layout as is, to an Ubuntu system which has also a German layout…
