So I can confirm that the issue still happens on the latest version. Unfortunately there is another issue now as well:

The previous behaviour was that when I log in, it gives me remote access to the logged in session (same user). All the settings and desktop is as it should be. Now, when I log in it creates a new session, with all the settings and tweaks for my environment wiped, and replaced by the defaults. The filesystem is fine, I’m still the correct user, but none of my Gnome settings have persisted.

I apologize, but I’m not going to open a new topic. I just can’t use the software. For now I’m using an alternative that is much more stable, even though it requires a workaround to work at all (steam remote play of a text editor lol).

Anyway, thanks for the help. Happy New Year.

Okay so this seems like a different issue, because:
    1. I have Wayland disabled

    2. The problem is now happening with LightDM as well.

    🙁

Only solution so far is to ctrl+alt+f3, sudo apt purge NoMachine, restart, login, reinstall NoMachine; I have to do this on every reboot.

The problem seems to be resolved by switching to lightdm and using that instead to login.
