ebiscaiaParticipant
Hi,
I’m glad to say it worked. Server started already active and I managed to connect to it remotely.
Thank you
ebiscaiaParticipantHi Carin,
I’d love to test it. Please, let me know when it’s ready.
ebiscaiaParticipantHi,
Seems like there is a permission issue that makes some files not being compressed if they are in the folder. Here is a new set of files.

ebiscaiaParticipantHi,
I used tonight the program you sent me. No changes. Here are the logs, in debug mode already.
Thanks,
Eduardo

ebiscaiaParticipantOf course. I’d have no objection to that.
Thanks,
Eduardo
ebiscaiaParticipantebiscaiaParticipantHi,
After giving a break to deal with other stuff, I tried to check where the problem could be. Still didn’t make a big change but it seems like I also had a permission issue. After giving my user full access to the license files the dot where it shows the server status changed from gray to red. I can’t connect, nonetheless.
Just uploading the log files after the change.
Thanks,
Eduardo

ebiscaiaParticipantHi,
Sorry for the late reply. I deleted the folders and also some registry info (couldn’t delete all of them because I was not allowed to for some of them even with admin permissions), reset the computer, installed the program, reset the computer and tried to run NoMachine. It did not work. Redid it and decided to install an old version. Nothing. Then, I tried to change the port to 4001 in this old version and try to make it run. As the lights turned green I thought it was running. Therefore, I tried to log in with another computer. Nothing. I saved some logs to see if that would help.
Thanks

ebiscaiaParticipantJust did ./nxserver.exe –restart and received the same message about the subscription which makes me wonder if it is a case of a registry input. Will try another fresh install during the day.
ebiscaiaParticipantHi,
Here are the outputs of the commands:
c:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin>nxserver –subscription
NX> 622 You appear to run an NoMachine free version. Please visit
NX> 622 the NoMachine Web site at http://www.nomachine.com/
NX> 622 if you want to use NoMachine for business purposes.
c:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin>nxserver –version
NoMachine – Version 7.0.211
I also attached the server.lic file and node.lic (just in case).
Thank you,
Eduardo
ebiscaiaParticipantHi,
Thanks for helping me. Let’s see if I can give you more data:
Are you sure that NoMachine nxserver is not running? I see some nxserver process in process explorer.
That process lasts as long as nxserver is trying to run. Just checked it here with cmd and the proccess stops being shown when the cmd output is displayed on the screen. But there is the nxservice64 –servicemode that is always running even after all other nx services are off and I can’t kill it. Not sure if there is any relation, though.
Please paste here screenshot with output for command from point 3 and point 4.
C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin>nxserver –status
NX> 111 New connections to NoMachine server are enabled.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxserver.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxnode.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxd.
C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin>nxserver –restart
NX> 162 Service: nxserver already disabled.
NX> 162 Service: nxnode already disabled.
NX> 162 Service: nxd already disabled.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxserver.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxnode.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxd.
This time with the program open
C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin>nxserver –restart
NX> 162 Service: nxserver already disabled.
NX> 162 Service: nxnode already disabled.
NX> 162 Service: nxd already disabled.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxserver.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxnode.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxd.
C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin>nxserver –startup
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxserver.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxnode.
NX> 162 Disabled service: nxd.
Also I do not see logs from nxserver or even nxinstall, could you check those both location for them:
I reran the logs and included the files from both folders. Hope that helps.
Best regards,
Eduardo

ebiscaiaParticipantUpdate:
Removed the chocolatey version of the program and installed the one from the website
Tried to follow these two:
https://www.nomachine.com/AR07D00404
https://www.nomachine.com/AR11O00942
From the prompt:
PS C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin> ./nxserver –activate “C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\node.lic”
NX> 732 License C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\node.lic is already active.
PS C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\bin> ./nxserver –activate “C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\server.lic”
NX> 732 License C:\Program Files (x86)\NoMachine\etc\server.lic is already active.
Tried to get the .lic files from another machine I installed the program just with this purpose. Still nothing.
Thanks,
Eduardo
ebiscaiaParticipantHi,
About you questions:
“So everything worked correctly before using Dynu DDNS? Or something else also changed? For example: new version of nomachine was installed?”
Yep. Actually, before that I was also able to ssh my computer from the internal network using the public IP with NAT. So I could:
ssh eddie@my_private_ip or
ssh eddie@my_public_ip -p port_number, without leaving my private network and it work in both cases. Now if I want to connect in the second case or use my hostname, I need to be out of my private network (iPhone Personal Hotspot).
“”Also, when I try to run nxserver using cmd, another process starts (nxserver.bin) and disappears.”
I may not be expressed well here, when I double-click nxserver.exe, I see this nxserver.bin showing up and disappearing with the .exe process in the process explorer. Also a prompt screen shows up but the messages just flash on the screen before the window closes. I recorded the screen and the message is (file included):
No valid subscription found. Please visit the NoMachine web site at nomachine.com to acquire a valid subscription. The NoMachine server cannot perform the requested action. Bye.
“Could you try gather logs with steps from here?
https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00162#1
It must be done in cmd as administrator user.”
File included.
Thanks,
Eduardo
