sudo /usr/NX/bin/nxserver –restart
second screenshot, hosts foundissue with File Descriptors which has been reported in the past (I looked at the knowledge Base)
pavlosParticipanttried again on the same server, Mint 22.2 … No hosts found
cat .nx/server.log

pavlosParticipantserver: Linux Mint 22.2 installed 9.2.18, click on main window, no hosts found … after a few seconds it shows hosts.
cat .nx/nxserver.log
19694 19694 2025-07-29 19:22:07 714.461 NXNODE WARNING! Process ‘/usr/NX/bin/nxclient –monitor –pid 1123’ with pid ‘19715/19715’ finished with signal 11 after 125,230 seconds. You will tell me, it’s a WARNING but signal 11 is a seg fault.
cat .nx/server.log
Many warnings … on /bin/pactl, cold not load PulseAudio for physical session.
Rebooted Mint 22.2 … this time it shows hosts without delay.
I will try with Mint 21.3 and report back.
pavlosParticipantNo, I use 9.1.24
Should I update to 9.2.18 and look at the server.cfg ?
pavlosParticipantgrep Available /usr/NX/etc/server.cfg
AvailableSessionTypes unix-remote,unix-console,unix-default,unix-application,physical-desktop,shadow,unix-xsession-default,unix-xdm
pavlosParticipantNoMachine does not provide an archive of past versions. You have to ask them to provide you a link.
I use 9.1.24 which works on all the PC’s.
pavlosParticipantThank you
pavlosParticipantI do not see my topic split.
Had same issue, 9.2.18 does not find clients on a pc, Ubuntu Mate 24.04
Downgraded to 9.1.24, finds clients.
pavlosParticipantYes, that worked. Thank you.
pavlosParticipantOn the remote system, I made the left monitor primary and the right monitor secondary (disconnected the 3rd). When I click on Browse Connections > Settings > Server Preferences > Updates > Check now … all popup windows show on the left monitor (primary).
It must be some issue with zenity identifying which monitor the request came from, and letting zenity popup on that same monitor.
Thank you for your reply.
pavlosParticipantThe remote system (Mint 20) has zenity 3.32.0, gksudo not installed.
I see similar behavior when I start a program that needs authentication. Example: start gparted on the remote system, the authentication window pops on a different monitor, not on the primary monitor I’m connected to.
pavlosParticipantI d/l the patched version. Tried to install via GDebi, it would not since the patched version 6.7.6-1 is prior to the existing 6.7.6-14. Then, I sudo dpkg -i patched version, it installed fine. I disconnected the monitor on remote 2, then from the local machine I was able to connect to remote 2 with display … good. I rebooted remote 2 and was able to connect again and have display. So this patch works. See attached a screenshot of the install process.
Thank you for your help.
