OK, thanks, now I see clearer. I’ll have to wait for the Network price tags then.

    Hmmm,

And that still stands 🙂  So, free to publish your NoMachine-enabled computers on Network (including computers where the free edition is installed) and you won’t need an account to publish them on Network; free to use the 2FA service provided you have an account, free to login with your account to the Network service in the GUI (from version 9 onwards) and see these computers you published, if you want.

But, connecting using the Network service to your computer, any computer, published on NoMachine Network will require a subscription. You won’t need a subscription to register, you won’t need a subscription to use 2FA, you won’t need a subscription to log in with your account, you’ll just need a subscription when you want to connect over Network. For pricing, you should contact our Sales Department.

Maybe we’re talking past each other or I don’t get the grasp (which might be the case, since English is noch my first language), but:

(Leave aside 2FA, that might be of interest in the future.) So it’s free to “put any machines in the network”, understood. So then they are part of the network. Being that is also free, understood. But that is of no help whatsoever, being in a network without crossconnecting to anything else, which leads us to the absolute core usecase of the entire remote-desktop-idea: accessing one desktop from some other desktop, assuming that “see” other computers on the Network is not “control” them, but exactly that: see them, no more. Next: If I want to control mutually, when those computers are in different subnets, I need their “network ID”, not their IPs and for controlling them mutually in that case a subscription (for yet unpublished costs) is required.

Or getting back to my initial usecase (sample IPs):

    • Machine A (192.168.178.42)
    • Machine B (192.168.179.42)

    … with the outcome:

    • with NoMa 8: No mutual control between A and B possible, bc. subnets are separate
    • with NoMa 9:
      • Mutual control between A and B possible, Network subscription required
      • Without Network subscription, no mutual control between A and B

Am I getting it right now?

Hmmm, this sounds a bit contradictory to …

Access to NoMachine Network will be free for everybody.

So – is it free or not?

Ooof, well then obviously the enthusiasm now depends on the susbscription pricing. Are there hints in this regard?

Still curiously looking forward to the release

Sounds good so far, very much looking forward to it. 😀👍

The info page sounds like this functionality will be as free available as the current edition (“non-network”) is, am I getting this right?

    Cheers
