Yes, I noticed that the display does not update. That is the problem. It is just frozen in the state that it connected to.
Not sure what you mean about the display. The host is headless, the guest has a monitor. So I connect and on the guest monitor I see the static picture of the host desktop; I can move the mouse around but has no effect.

Well, I am a bit of a tech dummy, but followed the steps in the link you mentioned and this is compressed folder of the logs, I think … (attached)
But trying to run the commands you asked for just get that: “C:\Program not recognized as command or operable batch file”
I’m sure I’m getting something basic wrong …

once again, this is what happens – after disconnecting from NM server (stopping the connection), internet browser on the client takes a long time to connect. Email client on client machine, when attempting send-receive, times-out, giving message “error in name resolution”. But after about 2 minutes it goes back to normal…
