Hi,
Firewall both on client and server side are off.
When running a netstat, I see that the service is not even running. I run service nxserver start, and it says starting but no service is running. Not listening on any port.
Any recommendation? Ive uninstalled, removed and reinstalled a few times now.
smithyParticipantI don’t think it’s just XP, I did Win7 to Android and I was sort of shocked how badly distorted it was, regardless of quality setting. That was of course LAN over WiFi but it doesn’t really explain it (I often get really good speed and use video streaming, etc.).
smithyParticipantStill doing it as of 5.1.9, but now there’s a ticket for it (https://www.nomachine.com/TR03N06559) The ticket implies it to be because of capital letters in the username, and, in fact, mine is all-caps. Let me know if I can provide logs to help (I’d offer to try it on another computer, but all of them contain at least one capital letter I believe), and I’ll check back every once in a while.
smithyParticipantActually I tried OpenSSH through Cygwin, and I’m still getting this problem (on both Windows 7 and Android). And using the settings for PuTTY-gen I explained in my second post give similar looking keys (but let’s ignore that for now). The only difference from my keys and the examples is that in the private key it starts and ends as “—–BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY—–” followed by a section containing the Proc-Type and DEK-Info, but it’s still weird it would fail right after it (successfully?) verifies the passphrase.
Could this be a bug? My installation is fresh.
smithyParticipantIt’ll be your Windows account username and password (of the user of the server you’re connecting to, so whatever you logged in as into Windows to start the server usually). You can change this to an internal user system (https://www.nomachine.com/forums/topic/username-and-password) which may be helpful if you have a non-standard computer setup, and it also has some GUI support for other log-in methods (like encrypted key pairs which I’m trying to figure out myself) which you can see when you set up or edit a connection.
smithyParticipantI’m running into this too.
Yes, the start menu menu in the client-side desktop (Linux Mint) shows up.
I did try to grab the keyboard but it was already turned on. Toggling it didn’t help either
smithyParticipantHi Juddbs,
I tried to uninstall freenx binary and then installed NoMachine. Now i see the correct version of the nxserver running.
$ ./nxserver –version
NoMachine – Version 4.0.366$ ./nxserver –status
NX> 161 Enabled service: nxserver.
NX> 161 Enabled service: nxd.Now when i try to connect from my mac, i see the following error:
No available session found error. The server was unable to make the local display available or access to the local display is disabled.
Do you know why that would happen? I have installed the free edition, not the enterprise one.
thanks
JacobsmithyParticipantI have the same issue and reported this via another channel. A trouble report has since been opened. http://www.nomachine.com/TR10K03920
