Look also into $HOME/.xsession-errors and /var/log/messages.

Could you list the files located in $HOME/.cache/upstart?

Desktop log in Ubuntu 16.04 are located in $HOME/.cache/upstart. Search those files for errors.

About the screensaver, please tell me the Linux distro in use.

Is the Xfce session running on a NoMachine virtual desktop or on a physical display?

Would you try a debug version of a NoMachine component in order to collect more information?

I’m pretty sure this has nothing to do with pack option. Let me suggest to try to check “Disable client side hardware decoding” in the NoMachine menu, if you have the chance.

Is your home folder located on a remote filesystem (mounted by NFS, for example)?

Hello, you need to run /etc/NX/nxserver --virtualgl-install as preliminary stage.

Then run /usr/NX/scripts/vgl/vglrun glxinfo > vlg.txt 2>&1 and search vgl.txt for error messages.

Hello.

Processes confined in the chroot environment still employ the Android kernel that does not provide support for the kind of shared memory needed by NoMachine server.

We can’t reproduce with latest nvidia driver 450.57.

Please collect info about your video card using command lshw -C display.

I’m afraid it is not possible to use NoMachine to do what you are asking. NoMachine virtual desktop are available only in Linux products, anyway they cannot be employed to extend an existing screen (they aren’t intended for doing that).

Hello. Is the server side a virtual machine? Are you using open source video driver or from a video card vendor’s package? Any error in files /usr/NX/var/log/node/*/session ?
