The older mac is a 2017 MBP with quad core i7, running Ventura.
By “blackening out” I mean that it’s as if there was a black blank screen screensaver that keeps kicking in every few seconds, even when the mouse is not idle. If I raise the laptop lid, it works perfectly without the screensaver effect. (the actual screensaver is not a black screen)
adding that option to node.cfg fixed it!!! 🥳
The jumping cursor problem returned when I updated NoMachine on the Mac (server side) from 8.4.2 to 8.5.3
So I want to revert my Mac software back to 8.4.2
(Unless anybody can think of some setting that caused this to happen, which is likely)
Where can I download v8.4.2 of Mac NoMachine?
I’m happy to report that with the latest client update 8.5.3 on my Windows 7 client, this issue is no longer happening!
Ok. That link is the same link as the earlier link that I followed.
The mouse offset is always the same size regardless of whether it’s in the upper left or the bottom right
This behavior does not happen only when dragging to copy text.
Actually, any time I click on the screen, I see the mouse cursor appear a couple lines above where I clicked, even though the effective coordinates of the mouseclick are accurate to where I clicked.
Does that help?
The client is 8.4.2 on Windows7 and the server is 8.4.2 on Mac Monterrey
The cursor jumping happens in every app on the mac where I can drag the cursor to select text, for example Chrome & Edge browsers, TextEdit, Intellij IDEA….
Thanks for the response. After initially disabling HW encoding, there was no difference but after several attempts it now works great again, no delays at all.
It had been unusable with constant noticeable delays, for example if I quickly ran my down mouse all options of a menu, the rendering would show my mouse slowly moving my mouse as each menu option is selected. I’m thinking there was a conflict but I don’t know what, since it did work fine before, when HW encoding was enabled then also. Anyway now it’s working again, now sure if due to the HW encoding option or what.
Also, @Britgirl I saw you had responded to an earlier post a couple years ago about a feature for remapping cmd/option keys being completed. is this available now? https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/remap-option-and-command-keys Thanks!
