Yes t-dome,
the NoMachine Enterprise client is free.
You can download it from the ‘NoMachine Enterprise Client’ section here:
sil04ParticipantPlease install the enterprise version of the client ;).
sil04ParticipantYou can run the client providing the name of the connection file on the command line.
Example:
/usr/NX/bin/nxplayer <session file>
If you stored the password, the desktop you want to run and the other details in the connection file, this will bring you straight to the requested session.
sil04ParticipantPlease look at this trouble report:
sil04ParticipantIf you are referring to key-based authentication, key-based authentication misses the GUI integration at the moment. Once implemented it will mirror the SSH implementation.

sil04ParticipantNodes were added fine but I found their performance degraded if any changes were made on the node which lives on the same machine where also NX server lives.
I was changing some logging options (destination and log level) on the nodes and found that nodes would randomly start to run extremely slowly even when I’d revert changes. I still didn’t figure out which change would cause this. Restarting of NXServer daemon would fix it but is not the nicest way to solve this. I will test a bit more and come back about it.
I suspect this can be due to some process becoming confused and entering an infinite loop.
Please run top when this happens and see if there is any process showing at 100%.
If you can, also attach with gdb and see if you can take a backtrace.
Otherwise get in contact with our support so they can provide instructions on how to do that.

sil04ParticipantHi igor,
I’m already using VirtualGL with version 3.5 without problems and was hoping there’s an automatic way now to provide 3D acceleration in version 4. Is there any time frame when it would be available?
In the 4.1 we run here, VirtualGL is now the default. Unfortunately I cannot give any release date yet.
sil04ParticipantJordan,
if you don’t have admin privileges you can ask your administrator to check if the old session is still alive. In any case version 3.3.0-14 is no longer supported.
sil04ParticipantWe have split this topic into two separate ones because it deals with two different issues.
You can find them here:

the fact that you are experiencing a connection problem on your Windows x64 and not on the Windows 32-bit machines is not necessarily related to the computer architecture (Windows packages are suitable for both 32bit and 64bit).
Can you please send server side logs to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? You can refer to previous post for instructions.

can you please send server side logs to support ?
The /var/log folder on Windows is:
%PROGRAMDATA%\NoMachine\var\log on Windows Vista, 7 and 8.
Please compress this folder and send to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
sil04ParticipantIs your Operating System at 64bit ?
Are you installing the package for amd64?
sil04ParticipantHi clooner,
it seems that you are trying to install package nomachine_4.0.362_1_i386.deb over a previous nomachine installation version 4.0.362-3.
Please try to uninstall the previous installation:
sudo dpkg -r nomachine
Verify also that the /etc/NX has been removed when uninstalling completed. If not please delete the /etc/NX directory manually.
Then proceed with the fresh new install:
sudo dpkg -i nomachine_4.0.362_1_i386.deb
sil04ParticipantAre you connecting to the physical desktop or are you creating a new virtual desktop?
If it’s a virtual desktop, which is the keyboard layout on your client machine?
In case of virtual desktop sessions, NoMachine tries to set the keyboard in the session according to the current keyboard layout on the client machine.sil04ParticipantYou can change the keyboard on the server. Look for keyboard layout in system settings.
