July 16, 2015 at 19:18 in reply to: Alt+Tab and Ctrl+Tab doesn’t work when I connect to Windows system #7738TorParticipant
Hey guys.
After going deep into this issue we’ve decided to split it up into two different problems. One is documented in TR05M05497 and it is related to Alt+Tab not working on server Windows 8 and later; the other one is about Ctrl+Tab not working correctly from OS X client:https://www.nomachine.com/TR07M05788
Any of you wishing to test a fix for the latter, please contact us at forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
TorParticipantHi.
Did you enable “Resize remote screen” button?June 4, 2015 at 16:47 in reply to: Whiteboard only visible for myself and not to other connected users? #7386TorParticipantHi wernermaes.
The ‘–list’ option reports all users connected to that NoMachine Server, while NoMachine Monitor shows users connected to the session where it is running. For the same reason, Whiteboard can be used only with users sharing the same session, so for example if other users are running their own virtual desktops, you cannot communicate with them through the Monitor.
TorParticipantHi noetus.
We’re not aware of such issues. Are you scaling the desktop and maybe using a different ratio for each display? What’s the monitors geometry and layout, e.g. two landscape displays with primary on the left?
TorParticipantHi.
The remote monitor selection is not really related to the number of users connected to the desktop, but it is not clearly related to what you’re asking.
If I understand correctly, you would like to virtualize the client’s display so that the server detects the same display layout you’ve on the client. It’s an interesting feature and it can be useful in many contexts, but at the moment I could not say if it can be done on all systems.
We’ve opened an internal Feature Request under investigation, thank you for your suggestion!TorParticipantHi.
If those multiple monitors are on the server, you’ll find useful this Feature Request that will be included in the next release:Giving the possibility to switch between monitors of the remote server
https://www.nomachine.com/FR11K02797This may not be exactly what you need because if you have multiple monitors on the client you may have enough space to see all remote monitors in the same time. Once we’ll release this feature and collect feedbacks, we’ll evaluate how we can improve usability for this use case.
TorParticipantDavid, logs show that you’re using the quick connection address format (copied from the NoMachine Client GUI on the server) as hostname in the Connection Wizard (clicking ‘New’), so the client cannot connect to the host because it cannot detect the right address. As quick solution, paste that address in the search field you see in ‘Recent connections’ dialog and press Enter.
Please read also this article, it explains how to configure a connection:
https://www.nomachine.com/getting-started-with-nomachine#internet
Look at Fig.11 and Fig.12 in particular.
Let me know if it helps.
TorParticipantHi Quantum.
Normally host certificate or fingerprint get saved and the message only appears when there is a mismatch.
If you’re using NX protocol, check if the following file exists and if it has correct access permissions:$HOME/.nx/config/client.crt
If you’re using SSH, check this file:
$HOME/.ssh/known_hosts
If this doesn’t help, when you see the remote host key message pack the most recent logs directory ($HOME/.nx/R-*) and send it to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
TorParticipantAmmar, if you mean that the server is running only a console and that you want to see that in the NoMachine Client, then we don’t support this at the moment. We’re evaluating to add the Linux Framebuffer grabbing but it’s not in our short-term roadmap.
In order to use NoMachine on Linux you need an X server, even without a desktop manager. You may for example evaluate to start the X server and a fullscreen Xterm to run your console applications without a window manager.TorParticipantAikie, unluckily there is nothing we can do as this problem seems to be quite common on Yosemite when a monitor is not attached.
I didn’t find an official report, but these threads give some information about it:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6620453?start=0&tstart=0
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6805840?start=0&tstart=0TorParticipantHi Sergei.
Recently we’ve found a problem that may be related to your issue, can you please check it?
NoMachine menu is not visible on Windows 8 when the DPI scaling is equal or greater than 150%
https://www.nomachine.com/TR04M05255TorParticipantHi lubito.
Client version 4 doesn’t allow to preconfigure the geometry of the remote desktop the first time you connect. The default configuration resizes the remote desktop to the size of the client’s display. This default can be changed in two ways:
- By unchecking the box “Change the server resolution to match the client when I connect” in the “Display resolution” dialog (this can be done in panels appearing when the session starts)
- By enabling the option “Resize remote screen” in the Display menu panel
You can read more details about view modes by reading this article:
Resize and scaling options for NoMachine client version 4 or later
https://www.nomachine.com/AR02M00835Using the “Resize remote screen” option may not be always the best way to resize the desktop, because sometimes users may need a specific geometry. In order to improve this, in version 5 we’ll implement the following feature:
Adding the possibility to configure the resolution of the remote desktop
https://www.nomachine.com/FR03M02888TorParticipantHi ammar.
You could use the ‘–session’ command line parameter, which will start a connection without showing the main dialog:
/usr/NX/bin/nxplayer --session <path to the NXS file>
If you want to skip also other steps, like the session type selection, please read the first paragraph of the following article:
Connecting to desktop sessions in NoMachine 4
https://www.nomachine.com/AR07K00681TorParticipantHi slane.
Our application is configured to share files with the connected computer through iTunes. Once the device is connected, open iTunes, select your device, enter Apps tab, on the left select NoMachine then click the ‘Add…’ button.
When the file is ready create a new connection in NoMachine App, select “Private key” then in the next wizard page you can browse the file system that, by default, starts from the same directory where the file was added with steps listed above.
TorParticipantThe “snap back” behaviour is normal if the window is running in viewport mode, that means that “Resize remote screen” and “Fit to window” are both unchecked. Can you verify if “Resize remote screen” gets automatically disabled when you increase the window size?
What is the size of your display (or displays)? -
