Ideally your university should provide you with the server IP details to use when setting up your connection. When connecting to a server, most likely protected by a firewall, you need to select option according to their instructions.
If you continue to have problems connecting, please contact the administrator of the university’s server. They will be able to check whether there is something wrong on their side.
BritgirlKeymasterI believe you have also submitted a Report Issue. Please select one channel for this issue. I will write here what the team already requested.
In order to investigate this issue, we would need installation logs. They are placed in the AppData folder under the user’s home, e.g.:
C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup Log 2016-02-2…..
BritgirlKeymasterDid you mean Fedora 16? We don’t support Fedora 6.
BritgirlKeymaster@lhw1609 Just use your system username and password. The one you usually use to log in on that machine.
BritgirlKeymasterThere is a limit on the mail server. Is it possible for you to split them up maybe? If they are so big, it might be that you have logs from old sessions? If so, we don’t need those, just the logs from the affected session.
BritgirlKeymasterNo logs were attached I’m afraid. Can you reattach or submit them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? They should be both client and server-side logs. I understand that your client is Windows, but we would also need you to confirm what you are connecting to: OS and version, what NoMachine product is it? If you are not the administrator of the server you are connecting to, then it might be better if they open a support ticket.
If you are accessing a NoMachine server installation which you are in charge of, the full instructions for extracting the logs (both sides) are here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098.
BritgirlKeymasterWe’ve reproduced this and have opened a Trouble Report here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR02N06521
You can use the ‘notify me’ tool to know when a fix has been released.
BritgirlKeymasterThis topic is now closed. Please use the notify me alert to know when a fix is available.
BritgirlKeymasterPlease submit those log files to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure you reference your topic. Thanks!

February 22, 2016 at 10:05 in reply to: 'No available sessions on this server' error for Ubuntu 14.04.4 #10166BritgirlKeymasterHi, can you enable debug and submit logs? Instructions are available here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098
Send them on to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to reference your topic.
BritgirlKeymasterThe logs were refused so I suggest you send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
Also, have you checked that the connections are enabled on the Windows machine that you are trying to access? See fig. 9 here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT11M00106#3.1.
What dialog are you seeing when trying to connect? What are you connecting from? I.e what OS is the client computer and what product from NoMachine have you installed?
BritgirlKeymasterThis looks similar to a problem that we recently investigated. Can you send us the complete set of logs and send to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com?
Follow the instructions here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098. We’ll need both sides, local (client) and remote (server).
BritgirlKeymasterThere should be nothing to tweak to in order to show ‘ticks in boxes’ in the remote desktop session. What OS do you have on the client side? What OS & version on the machine you are accessing? What product and version from our website did you install? What application, with these check boxes that you need to tick, is it?
BritgirlKeymasterThis is a bug and the Trouble Report is here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR02N06450
Please use the ‘notify me’ box to receive notification when a fix has been released.
